Dr. R. Owen Parker, MA, MBA, PhD, CHRP
Dr. Owen Parker is a senior research leader and independent consultant with almost 25 years of extensive experience in applying research and survey methods as vital tools for identifying and solving key business and organizational issues. He has designed, managed and conducted organizational, evaluation, workforce and employee-related studies, in the public, private and non-profit sectors, using paper, telephone, electronic and online approaches.
Owen was the Director of Online Survey Methods at Ipsos, the research company, and the Director of Research at an HR consulting firm, the Workplace Institute. He has been a consultant and research leader at Decima Research, The Conference Board of Canada, Watson Wyatt Worldwide and the Department of National Defence. During his career, he has undertaken a variety of noteworthy research projects, including a study of the links between strategy and pensions in Canadian Employers, a survey of the effects of aging in the labour force on Canadian organizations, and an evaluation of leading corporations that went through a strategic human resource transformation. Owen has written on numerous research issues, producing research reports, client publications, and journal articles. He has given presentations, lectures, seminars and webinars regarding the findings from diverse studies to various audiences, including employees, students, conferences and executives.
Dr. Parker holds a number of academic credentials, including an MBA, a PhD in Organizational Sociology and an MA in Sociology. He is a certified Human Resources Professional. He recently completed an Adult Education and Training Certificate.
