Like everyone, my life has been peppered with a series of moments and meetings after which my focus and direction has changed. I credit two such events with the creation of ODScore™. Over a decade ago, I met Giovanni Salas in business school. We were both drawn to the courses on metrics and balanced scorecard and soon began to dream about what it would be like to have an “Organizational Development Information System” hard wired into organizations to capture growth and development activities and correlate them to business results. We began to tinker and collaborate. Then, in the spring of 2005, I had the great privilege of working with Walt Disney University on a unique initiative to create stronger ties between people. One evening I struck out to enjoy some of what the MGM studios theme park had to offer and ended up watching the One Man show about Walt Disney. As I watched the threads of Walt Disney’s life come together, the vision of a network began to emerge, leveraging assessment, scoring and the joy of interaction and learning. Shortly after Giovanni called with a revelation of his own.

Accountability and transparency has always been a major focus for me in business, and I’ve always loved and been involved with technology, though my degrees are in economics and business. After 14 years as a leader in internal technology departments, I took the opportunity to realize my goal of focusing on business intelligence full time. In 1999, I started Knowledge4You with my partner Radu Vestemean, PhD – an information technology and business intelligence rock star. We’ve grown the company and have enjoyed a great deal of satisfaction and success.
We’ve created a suite of products I am extremely proud of for surveying, dashboarding and registration and education tracking. Check us out at www.knowledge4you.com. Over the past few years, we’ve been planning to move to adding software as a service to our portfolio, and we focused this on our existing client base in health care. From this, a health care specific application was created called www.linkhealthpro.com. It was designed to facilitate health care education leveraging both business intelligence technology and social networking. It began to look very like what Christy Pettit and I had envisioned back in the late 90s while getting our MBAs. So I gave her a call, and the rest, as they say, is history.
